FACE COVERINGS AND SKINCARE!
As most of you know for the majority of my working life I was a beauty therapist (now retired!). I've seen a lot of chat online about people experiencing skin irritation and breakouts after wearing face coverings. There are a few things you can do to help this. Firstly look at your general skincare routine. You need to invest a little bit of time in this. Think of your face as your best outfit. You wear it everyday so it deserves being looked after. Cleansing and moisturising are vital as a minimum. If you moisturise your skin well, ideally with UV protection, you will protect it from external irritations and dirt. If you experience oiliness at the end of the day that's because your skin is dehydrated. Your skin is producing oil as it is looking for moisture. If you give your skin moisture, and hydrate from within by drinking lots of water, you will lessen this.
Also if your mask is disposable (which really it shouldn't be because of the environment) then dispose of it! Don't reuse it. You will be putting yesterday's dirt on your clean face. Also do not pull your mask down onto your neck to talk. Your neck may be dirty and you're just spreading the dirt around.
At the end of the day wash your mask and cleanse your face (not forgetting your neck) and moisturise!
Repeat again tomorrow
